The installation Under One’s Hat explores the image of the cowboy imprinted in the heart of American culture. In the work Under One’s Hat, a cowboy hat is mounted inside a wall. In the hat, the viewer finds a video-confession told by men wearing various cowboy masks. The sculpture titled Achilles displays a skeleton of a cowboy’s foot with a spur coming out the heel alluding to the quick violent action of directing a horse. The kinetic sculpture titled Stigmata shows a lifeless hand laying in a box with a lasso emerging from a hole in the palm as it revolves perpetually.
