Interstellar

The drawings are made primarily with charcoal through an intuitive and process-based approach. Layers of marks, smudges, and erasures build the image gradually, without a fixed plan. Images of stars and outer space are inserted into the drawings, creating a connection between the material quality of charcoal and visual references to the cosmos. The works explore the relationship between gesture, surface, and spatial depth.
